Who can see who I follow on TikTok?
If your TikTok profile is public, the default TikTok setting allows everyone to see who you follow.
If you have a private TikTok profile, the default TikTok setting allows your followers to see who you follow.
However, there is a way to hide your following list from everyone, allowing nobody to see who you are following on TikTok. Instructions to hide your following list on TikTok are below.
Step-by-Step: How to Hide Your Following List on TikTok
Step 1: Navigate to the TikTok Settings and Privacy menu
To get to the Setting and Privacy menu, open your TikTok app and ensure that you’re logged in to the account you wish to update.
Click on “Profile” in the bottom menu, depicted by #1 in the picture above.
Click on the three stacked lines in the top menu, depicted by #2 in the picture above.
Step 2: Navigate to the “Privacy” submenu
You’ll now be in the Setting and Privacy menu, where you’ll see various menu items under the Account subheading, including “Manage account”, “Privacy”, ‘Security and login”, “Creator tools”, “Balance”, and others.
Click on the menu item titled “Privacy” with the lock symbol, outlined in red in the image above, to navigate to the Privacy settings submenu.
Step 3: Navigate to the “Following list” submenu
You’ll now be in the Privacy settings submenu, where you’ll see various subheadings including “Discoverability”, “Personalization and data”, and “Safety”.
Scroll down to the “Safety” subheading.
Click on the menu item titled “Following list“, outlined in red in the image above.
Step 4: Select the Appropriate Setting
You’ve now arrived to the “Following list” setting submenu. Under the question “Who can see your following list?”, you’ll see two options: “Followers” or “Everyone” (depending on your account privacy settings) and “Only me”.
The default setting is “Followers” or “Everyone”, which allows everyone who can see your content to see who you follow as well.
Click on the button next to “Only me“, which will hide who you are following from everyone.
